1. The do's and don'ts of using an electric hot tub

Do's

  • Showering. Shower before you step into the hot tub. To ensure that the hot tub water stays clean and fresh for as long as possible, we recommend that you shower yourself off first. without soap. This is because body lotions, sunscreen and soap on our skin can cause an oily layer in the hot tub water and make the water dirty.
  • Clean feet. Use slippers or a basin of water before entering the hot tub. This way, you ensure that little dirt is taken into the hot tub.
  • Supervised children. Make sure that children are always in the hot tub under adult supervision.

Don'ts

  • Diving & jumping. The hot tub is not designed for diving or jumping.
  • Eat. No food in the hot tub. Food leftovers that end up in the hot tub water via the hands or while eating will affect the quality of the water.
  • Sharp objects. Do not bring sharp objects into the hot tub.
  • Adjust the electrical system. When the hot tub is heated electrically, the Balboa system is used. The system is set up according to the accommodation's wishes and, regardless of the temperature, does not need to be adjusted in the menu.

The ideal hot tub temperature

The ideal hot tub temperature is around 38 degrees. Perhaps a bit cooler in the summer than in the winter. When the water gets warmer than 40 degrees, this can already be dangerous. Therefore, always keep a thermometer in the water to monitor the temperature.

3. The use of any systems

Are there bubbles, jets or underwater lights on the hot tub? Then you can easily switch it on and off by pressing the buttons on the Balboa control panel. Here, if these systems are present, you will see various buttons with “Bubbles”, “Jets” and/or “Light”.

4. Other settings in the system (which you shouldn't change)

You may have access to the Balboa system menu. Here you will find various settings that are better not to touch. The system is set up according to the preferences of the property where you are staying. To prevent problems with the hot tub, it is wise not to adjust anything to these settings.

5. Hygiene before you step into the hot tub

To keep the water in the hot tub as fresh as possible, it is good to get into the hot tub as clean as possible. You do this by always rinsing off beforehand so that there is no cream and/or soap left on your body. Then walk to the hot tub in your slippers or shoes, so you don't bring dirt from outside into the water.

6. What you should pay attention to when it comes to safety

We recommend that you never let children play in the hot tub without supervision. In addition, always check the temperature before you step into the hot tub. Water that is too hot, from 40 degrees, can already be dangerous.

7. The best things to do when you're done

When you're done enjoying the hot tub, you basically only have to place the cover, if available, on the hot tub. For example, the water does not cool down so quickly and the electrical system does not have to work overtime. Do you want to take a nice warm bath right away the next morning? Then make sure that the heating system is set to the desired temperature.

We wish you lots of fun and wonderful moments in the hot tub!
